Are you an experienced HR Generalist?

Hernandez Consulting & Construction needs an HR SHRM or HRCI certified professional and experienced HR Generalist to help support our busy HR department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the HR Manager, providing administrative support for the department, assisting with the hiring process, scheduling new employee orientations, and entering a high volume of employment records into our HR database. The successful HR Generalist candidate is expected to be a conceptual thinker with superb organizational and time management skills. You must be reliable and should accurately follow instructions with the ability to multitask and acclimatize to a fast-paced environment.

To ensure success, the HR Generalist should display remarkable conflict management and decision-making skills with a solid understanding of employee relationships, staffing management, and benefits administration. Top candidates will be superb at problem-solving, efficient in scheduling, and precise in the recruitment process. You’ll Need the following certification/experience for this Position:

  • SHRM or HRCI Certification preferred
  • Verifiable experience performing administrative work as an HR Generalist.
  • A history of supporting all internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests.

HR Generalist qualifications and skills:

  • Associate degree in HR-related field required (Bachelor's preferred)
  • 2+ years' related HR Generalist administrative experience required.
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Solid understanding of MS Office Suites.
  • Familiar with applicant tracking database systems is an asset. Experience with Bamboo HR and/or Jazz HR is preferable.
  • Basic knowledge of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
  • Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Proven skills with maintaining digital and electronic records of employees.
  • Experience working with benefits vendors and administrators.
  • Fast typing skills with entering employment data into various computer databases.
  • You must have experience with assisting HR supervisors with the hiring process, including verifying employment and references online, completing forms, uploading documents, and tracking the completion of multiple candidates in the recruitment verification process.
  • Worked with coordinating the logistics for new hire onboarding, offboarding, and employee training sessions.
